Discrimination will never help any organization-State Bank of Travancore should think.

10 August 2010

This is a letter I sent to Higher Authorities of State Bank of Travancore on 6th August 2010 for which I did not get a proper reply.

Hi

I had a very bad experience with your branch yesterday. I have visited Angamaly branch to collect my ATM PIN, since I had lost that some days back and I applied for a duplicate.

I was asked to approach a person who seems to be the Manager, next to him there was a board ‘Accounts Manager’ but no name. (This is another problem, every bank keep even their junior staffs identity. But, here as a Manager his name is not mentioned. I suggest you to have name tags for everyone in your bank)

I waited some minutes, since he was dealing with other customer. I have given my Debit/ATM card along with my Pass book. He was asking about the letter along with the Debit card. I told him I have not brought it. (I did not understand the relevance of such question, the letter is sent to me, and it is up to me whether to produce somewhere or not. And whatever import information required is with him like, card number is there in the card, and account number and my identity, pass book is enough for that. )

I told him, I have applied for a duplicate card. He asked for the old card, I said, I lost the card that’s why applied for a new one. His answer was rude, “cannot say that is the only reason, if you do not use a card for one month, the card will be deactivated and will have to apply for a new one.” Now I would like to know this statement is right or wrong. I did not want to have an argument since he was rude and adamant, like he is talking to a beggar, he might have annoyed when I said I did not bring the letter along with card.

I have account with HDFC and ICICI banks, even if I do not use my card for months I never have to replace it. Only when the card is damaged I have to replace it. They charge only Rs 100 for ATM/Debit card replacement. But you people charge Rs 220 for the same. If this is the case, how many times a person will have to replace a card? I am not sure, the information is correct or not. Since he is a Manager with your branch, I have to believe it. Please clarify.

Secondly, the person made me and other 3 customers wait for more than 30 minutes for not a relevant reason. I visited the branch  20 days back to apply for a duplicate ATM/Debit card, since I lost that while travelling to Bangalore.

There was an NRI, with him, he wanted to have some fixed deposit, and 5 minutes after I reached that was over. Again, he wanted to withdraw some fund. It was just Rs. 5000, the manager himself, filled the form and sent to cash counter with an assistant and got money and given to him. He have taken his contact details, and was talking to him, while we were waiting for him. At least he should have attended us and ask to wait, I would have been happy.

Yes, bank has to give importance to NRI, because they deposit more money, at the same time you cannot neglect the common man. Bank is for everyone, if you go to other banks, you get same consideration. There is no discrimination.

Please educate your staff to deal with customers, a Manager may be a good position in the bank, but I do not need to bother. I am a blogger, I have earlier written an article appreciating your customer service. Please do not force me to write something reverse.

So, please clarify about the ATM/Debit card usage? Whether the card will be deactivated, if I do not use it for a month.

Time is money

15 July 2010

Many people say time is money, but I do not think people observe it. I decided to write some of my experience in which I had to waste much of my precious time.

The first experience is with a local doctor. I had taken an appointment with him and I reached there 15 minutes before. Someone else was with him and I had to wait more than 5 hours to meet him. When I met him I said this is the maximum time I waited for a person.  That was very important that is why I waited, other wise I would have gone. He apologized, but my time will never come back.

The second experience is also with a Doctor but he is from Derhadun. I do not know whether he is a practicing doctor or a PhD.

I had put some advertisement in www.quikr.com for getting business, after giving the advertisement I have got some response and one was from this so called ‘Doctor’.  He said, he wish to develop a website for Event Management especially for Medical and Science Events. I have sent him a proposal. After 3 days he sent me a mail mentioning the proposal is fine with him and ready to start with. He was even ready to travel to Kochi to discuss about the project.

Then we started discussing about the project, like project aspects, how to implement, requirements etc. (We normally do this once we have advance but I did not take any advance thought that he is a professional and understand things). The discussion went on and after 2 months he came with other project for one of his lady friend, and project was Boarding Search Website. So in the proposal I have given much discount too.

So, we had 2 projects to discuss, in between he have taken my bank details and said will make advance payment.  I called him after a week, and then he said there is problem with his partner/lady friend in finalizing the project and planning for something else.

Again, later a week he asked me about setting up an IT company. He asked me to have a feasibility study to setup and IT company in Bangalore. I have done, I have tried to find some office space too in Bangalore. In the next call he turned back and said Bangalore is costly moving to Delhi. I said there is no problem.

In between he offered me a position as a ‘chief mentor’ of the new venture.  I accepted, since so much time and money too is wasted with the project planning, other office related inquires etc I thought something is better than nothing.

In the very next call he again turned back, and he said planning an office in Derhadun. I said I do not have any problem since it is his hometown. I have given about a month time for the setup. But even after a month there was no progress.

I asked him, whether he could give an approximate date in starting the operation.  But he was not sure. If a person trying to start business he will have something in his mind like starting date, investment, operations plan etc. But this so called ‘doctor’ had nothing in his mind.

So, I decided not to continue with such a person, I am not sure whether he is a doctor or illiterate. So ultimately I had to waste about 6 months on this project. I have used much of my recourses in this and these all in water.

I decided to check his credibility, I have checked with some of my friends based in Delhi and Derhadun about this fellow. Especially in Derhadun whether such a practicing doctor is there or not, but nobody knows such a doctor. I have checked in Google too. No information about him. Now I believe he pretend to be a doctor or he is a research scholar, but I doubt.

So, friends in the IT business, please be aware about this, if a doctor come from Derhadun and say that he want to develop an Event Management site or a Boarding Search Website  please be cautious with him, and please contact me if you require his complete details.

IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) Registry

13 July 2010

I lost 3 mobile phones during the last 2 months, 3 of them were stolen. To get these phones back I need to approach police and wait for their action.

Every mobile company registers the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number when a SIM is inserted into a Mobile Phone. This registry is not accessible to common man. So we have to approach police with the number. I do not know what the process they follow to find a stolen phone.

What I think now is, TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) should have a registry for IMEI and whenever we buy a phone it should be updated with TRAI’s registry by Mobile Service Provider.

In such scenario, if our phone is stolen, they just through your SIM and put another. There is mobile tracker available now in most of the phones. But if you loss both the phones what will happen. Same thing happen to me. I had mobile tracker activated and it was with other phone. I lost both, so no way I could find that phone.

If I take a connection from any Mobile Services Provider, my number is registered with this IMEI, and this will be updated with TRAI registry which is available to common man.

If my phone is stolen and if it is used by any other person I can identify the number and approach police to get that. This would be easier for police department too to identify any stolen phone.

I hope TRAI will take initiative to come with such a registry.

Reliance-Still adamant

15 May 2010

I had an article about the telecom provider’s attitude towards promotional SMS and calls (http://j-k.in/blog/2010/03/love-mail-service-shame-on-telecom-companies/)

My number is with Do Not Disturb Registry, I have checked and confirmed the same with http://ndncregistry.gov.in/ndncregistry/index.jsp.

A week back I got an SMS with message asking me whether I am bored, if so call someone for Rs. 10/Min. I have lodged a complaint with customer care and they said it will be resolved in 15 days time and they assured that I will not get such SMS in future.

But 3 days later I got another SMS from the same number; so thought of referring the issue to the Nodal officer concerned.  I have checked with NDNC Registry for further actions. They have given a mail id in which I could send complaints.

The Nodal officer Kerala, did not respond to me but they have started sending SMS and even Calls. Till yesterday, I was not getting calls. But after sending a complaint they have started to call and too many SMS.

These days, reliance service is very bad, they have problem with connectivity, many times call drop etc. Even after having many problems I am using reliance still. But they are too adamant, irresponsible so they continue sending SMS and calls.

Their customer service is worst. After waiting for 5 minutes I got a person. Explained  him about the situation, but he said 15 days is the resolution time. I have asked him when I have my number in Do Not Disturb Registry why I am getting messages. He did not have proper answer. And I was talking to him with loudspeaker on, he keep on insisting me to off the loudspeaker. I speak with many people using loudspeaker. I am not sure why he was insisting me to off that.

So, Reliance is making money for disturbing users, yes they are selling number database to marketing companies. There is no rule in this country to prevent it?  There is a TRAI, don’t they have any responsibility towards common man?

So, I have decided to discontinue Reliance Service. I will use this only for incoming. I will not recharge it again.

And read the SMS they sent:

1)     Thanichirunnu bore adicho? Ningalkayi oru nalla friend kathirikkunnu. Charges Rs. 10/min  13.05.10 at 12.51 am

2)     Manasile vishamangal thurannuparayuvan arumillenno? Enkil vilikku, ningalkkayi oru nalla friend kathirikkunnu. Charges Rs. 10/min 15.15.10 at 12.40 pm

3)     Mohita (B.A student), Rupa working woman, Reeta Dancer new in friend list. To talk just dial………….. charges 3rs/min 15.05.10 at 2.05 pm.

First 2 messages are in Malayalam, see the time they send SMS. One in the mid night, others when people are busy working. The call I got was at 11.11 am. They select prime time to send SMS and Call. And this is obviously a flirt service

I will update if I get any messages in future.

Worst experience with emonopoly USA (emonopoly.net) Beware of this company and Martez Knox

10 May 2010

My company had a very bad experience with Martez Knox, Managing Partner of emonopoly USA.  He has hired me for Social Media Marketing. Since SMM is one of the emerging areas of marketing I have taken this contract, he has asked me to market http://www.youremergencycash.com/ and http://loanuntilfriday.com.

He has asked me to start with the following sites; following is the exact communication;

http://mediatakeout.com/index.html

http://theybf.com/

http://www.allhiphop.com/ (Post in Rumors/News)

http://bossip.com/

http://www.sohh.com/

http://globalgrind.com/

http://www.tmz.com/

http://perezhilton.com/

Additionally, you can sign up to BlackPlanet.com and Migente.com to post stories.

According to his instruction, I have started working by creating email ids and profiles in the name of Jessan. If someone wishes to check the credibility of this, you can still check in the above site, you will find Jessan with a link tohttp://www.youremergencycash.com/ .

Once I started he told me that he is looking for top post in http://mediatakeout.com and the site is updated daily in the morning. So I used to monitor the site in the morning for the latest update. In my first attempt I got 6th position. I told him I am unable to get 1st position in this site since many people waiting to post comments. It could be a problem with geographical location since I sit in India and the server is in USA and people from USA might get the site before I get. Then he said, not a problem we need a top position, try along. So I continued with posting along with other site.

After a month I have sent him a bill, once he received the bill he said, our payment system is something like this. You work for a month and send us a bill, that bill will be processed 15th or 30th of next month. He did not mention that before he hires me. Any way I continued with, after one and half month he said not getting enough response form the posting. I have told him that I am not satisfied with what I do, so cancel the contract. But, he said there are some more options.

Subsequently, he has asked me to manage their affiliates and I would be the Director-Business Development with emonopoly. He has asked me to start the call center options too. That means he is looking for some call centers to promote his loan facility. I had initiated some contacts and there were communication with some companies with in India.

In between he sent first month’s payment to paypal as e-check. But after a week the payment got cancelled.

I used see him online, but no response. I have sent many mails regarding payment but no response. Ultimately one day I got someone on his business ID and he said he is John, assistant of Martez. He conveyed that Martez is in hospital and will be back in a week time. These all happens in the month of January 2010.

After a week again I contacted, but John said Martez is still in the hospital and he might undergo a surgery.  I have taken that in good sense and continued with the work. In between regarding payment Martez sent me a mail mentioning that he will be back in a month time and will settle.

Now, it is May 2010, till today the payment is not settled. Since I did not get 2 months payment, I stopped working for this company.

During April 2010, Martez sent me a mail mentioning that 2 months I worked but produced a little.  When he pointed out the same, I told him not to pay the full amount which he supposes to pay. I have offered him about 39% discount and asked him to make the rest. But till today, he has not made the payment.

Now, I understand this company, Martez, and their credibility.

What could have been the situation, if I had signed any agreement with call centers in India?

If this company does not have money to hire someone then why did he hire me?

If I have not worked and produced result then why did he send a payment to paypal and later cancel it?

So, it is my conclusion that this company does not have money to pay salaries.  In such situation, how do they offer loan?

So people those who read it, please be aware about the following sites,

http://www.shareberry.com/

http://www.mediafakes.com/

http://youremergencycash.com/

http://loanuntilfriday.com/

http://www.financeourcar.com/

http://blacktrump4life.com/

http://chicagoraven.ning.com/

http://zapataleaguebaseball.ning.com/

http://www.financemycar.net/

One person behind it, Martez Di Knox- A fraud, who has not paid me, this may not be an isolated case. Many might have cheated by this fellow. So be aware this and keep away Martez Knox as well as emonopoly and their associates.

Freelancers keep aware that his username is ‘diknox’ in Scriptalance.com and Freelancer.com (getafreelancer.com). Be aware when you choose to work with him

NB: I have ample evidence to substantiate what I say, if anyone wish to go through please contact me through the contact form.

‘Harthal’-Against price hike, really?

2 May 2010

Some days back we have experienced yet another ‘harthal’ in India. Kerala was one of the states which was observed ‘harthal’ as a  Bandh’. In recent years there is one more wishes came as SMS, Greeting cards and even calls to say ‘Happy Harthal ‘, people learned to celebrate ‘harthal’. It is off course a holiday for many workers. But have anyone gone through the impact of such ‘harthal’?

What was the use of last ‘harthal’? The opposition parties called for a ‘harthal’ to protest against price hike.

We need to go in deep to understand some facts. As a farmer, they need higher price for their produce, sometimes it is reasonable. So when it comes to end user, the common man the price will be higher than what he was paying before. There is no short cut to avoid such price hike. But what is the price structure now in Indian market?

A farmer is selling items for Rs. 5 and it reach to common man for Rs. 25. Where does the Rs. 20 go? Everybody knows it. What the government should do? Government should strengthen Public Distribution System and should have control over retail sector too.

Today, I can see the wholesale and retail price of items for example vegetables. The  Vegetable and Fruit Promotion Council, Keralam (VFPCK) collect the market rates daily and publishes in their website as well was in newspapers.  See and example here:  http://www.vfpck.org/docs/Mktprice.asp.  They publish the rates of main markets in a district. But the rates in rural area have huge difference.  Suppose an item costs Rs. 25 in the main markets the rate in the rural area will be somewhere 30-35% higher.  I used to buy items from Angamaly market, and compare the prices with the rates published in the newspapers. Some times the difference is more than 40%.

There is a law to publish a price list in every shop, I have noticed price lists but not for all items or not updated daily. If you ask why this item is priced so high than the newspaper rate, the shop keeper will have a simple word that, “if you want you buy, other wise leave”.

I believe, organized retailing is the answer to this problem. When Reliance and other companies came to retailing there were much opposition, but if someone checks the rates of these organized retailers, the rates are lesser than the street vendor. Because, they can buy items directly from the farmer which assure there is no middle man.

So, instead of going for some ‘harthal’ these political parties should think how they could solve this issue. What was the result after this ‘harthal’? Did common man gain anything? Nothing, working class lost a day, companies lost their business, travelers lost one day, many lost their precious time, many could not reach where they suppose to, and many could not get proper food. Ultimately common man was at looser end, and these political parties pretend that they are for common man.

So, oppose to such ‘harthal’, educated youth need to come out and fight against this menace.

The ‘Airtel Magic’

21 April 2010

I have taken a new connection of Airtel on 19th April 2010. My number is 9567331314; I had a plan to use this number for internet usage since they have some unlimited browsing options.

Yesterday, the 20th April 2010 at around 3.30 I have recharged this number with Rs. 13 which is for unlimited internet usage for 3 days. After recharging it I have tried to browse, but I was unable to get connected.  I have contacted customer care about 4 times, after having a word with the 4th person who was a supervisor, I got connected.

Whenever I tried to connect they charged with Rs. 0.30 but there were no connectivity. And by the evening of 20th I lost all the balance so I was unable to connect to. Today, 21st April 2010 I came to mobile shop from where I have taken this connection. They have contacted their customer care, and I was told that it will take 24hrs to activate the unlimited browsing option.

Here, I have made 4 calls to GPRS section of Airtel Customer care; I had a word with a supervisor, to all of them I have told I have recharged with Rs. 13. None have informed me that it will take 24 hours to activate it. They have sent a confirmation about the Rs. 13 recharge, even they could mention about it. But did not; why? Because; I will try to browse, each time they can get money.

The real magic has happened today the 21st April 2010, in the morning I have recharged with Rs. 30 and my balance was Rs. 30. I have just checked whether I can browse, I have taken Google and Gmail pages, but did not continue browsing since I have about 4 more hours waiting time to get activated the unlimited option.

Sine I use 4 connections I have removed the Airtel SIM and replaced with Uninor. Later at around 2 I had to make a call. I thought of making this call from Airtel since I have recharged with it. Before connecting the call, I got a message that there is low balance. And the call got disconnected after 2 minutes.

I called the customer care to inquire about it. It was shocking to hear that more than Rs. 20 been deducted from my account for browsing. And their record says I have used internet when my SIM was not in my phone. Airtel SIM was in a small box kept in my bag.

So, this is the first company charging for services when the SIM is not inserted in your phone.  That’s what is called ‘Airtel Magic’

The main problem is we do not have any control  or record on services, charges, calls  etc. Even in prepaid there is no control. So I request all to spread it if you face some issue. Someone else is not cheated in this manner.
